Happy Mid-Summer to You All!

I hope you are all finding your own ways to carefully, quietly, energetically, navigate your way through these interesting, challenging and what may be ‘new-normal’ times. With this, we are very encouraged to be observing good, solid momentum and interest in the first few months of our virtual programming. Truthfully, it has been hard not being able to be face-to-face with our participants and providers but we are also learning how comforting and healing virtual connections can be.

Our Providers

To no surprise, so much of the virtual programming success is due to the willingness and enthusiasm of our providers; they may have varying degrees of experience practicing virtually, but they all share the same high-level of desire to stay connected to, and help support the healing of, our participant community.

Our Staff

Our staff, Erica, Dan and Laura, have been working tirelessly to keep the transition of in-person-to-virtual as seamless as possible - no easy task when serving the number of participants we do. We remain focused on ensuring that the quality and caring our participants experience in person is realized in a new, virtual capacity and presence.

Our Participants

We are mindful, aware and grateful for the work that our participants, too, are doing as they transition from one form of scheduling, connecting and healing to new ways - not easy when living with life-threatening or chronic illness and other health conditions.  The feedback we have received from participants engaged in our virtual programming in the last few months has been very positive and supportive.

Our Board

We have a gifted group of people on our board who are connectors, healers and supporters in so many ways – too many to name. Aside from the general oversight of all things Pathways, our current, shorter-term focus is determining what ‘racial equity’ means through the Pathways lens, how we as an organization can address it not just in words, not just in a  ‘one-off’ scenario, but in an ongoing capacity.

Our Upcoming July 28th Virtual Event/ Your Support

We have a virtual event (30 minutes long and no cost to register) coming up on July 28th.  I hope you all are able to attend, enjoy and support or contribute to the best of your abilities. Your support will help us further build and maintain our new virtual platform.  This platform will be operational not just in times of our current state of crisis but will be a new extension of Pathways programming - designed to reach those in caregiver roles and those physically unable to reach us.

Musical Analogies

Because I find music so healing, I leave you with some terms symbolic of who Pathways is, how we perform organizationally, how we serve and stay unified, using terms most often found in the world of music:

  • ‘Polyphony’ (Combining to form one) - The definition refers to the style of simultaneously combining a number of parts, each forming an individual melody yet harmonizing with each other
  • ‘Symphony’ (Sounding Together) - Something favorably regarded as a composition of different elements to create one powerful sound.

Continuing an apparent theme, a new, Pathways-esque term……

  •  ‘Healphony’ (Healing Together) - A community of participants, providers, staff, board and donors, bringing many parts together to form one resounding, audible, healing heartbeat.

Thank you all for the gifts you bring to Pathways.
