Pathways Statement on Racial Justice and Equity

Dear Community,

Over the lifespan of our serving the community, we have always tried to listen and respond to our community’s healing needs. With the tragic murder of George Floyd, however, has come a new awakening.

To our BIPOC providers, participants and community, we see you and deeply appreciate your presence. We stand in solidarity with you.

‘Community Healing’ now takes on greater meaning. Today, we do not have the answers on how Pathways can best affect change through the lens of healing. In order to learn how we might best approach and determine our role in addressing systemic racism, our staff and board will meet in July to begin doing the hard work to advance change – within and without – while continuing to support healing at multiple levels. We will continue to listen and learn. We will discern our role/s and action/s in advancing racial justice and equity.

We don’t know how this process will evolve, how long it will take or what the results will be. We do know we'll make mistakes along the way. Above all, we are committed to doing the work.

Sincerely,

Tim Thorpe
Executive Director
