Caregivers: Navigating Together  - A Pilot Program

Mondays: September 17, October 1, 15

6:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Pathways believes caregivers have needs equal to those of the person for whom they are caring. Caregivers: Navigating Together is a space to gain support and develop new tools on the journey of Caregiving.  Caregivers can be spouses, partners, parents, children, friends, PCAs and more.  If you identify as a caregiver, we hope you will join us for one or all of the upcoming sessions.

We’ll have a different guest provider each session who will offer a topic and/or practice to help navigate the terrain of Caregiving. Expect new experiences with opportunities to share pieces of your Caregiving story if you choose. Both ‘talkers’ and ‘listeners’ welcome.

  • September 17: Exploring Grief as Caregivers with Carla Beach
  • October 1: Healthy Caregiving: Skills for Self-Care with Lisa Venable
  • October 15: Find Energy and Balance as a Caregiver with Spruce Krause

Pathways To Healing: Education Series

Meditative Movements™ Teacher Training

Facilitated by Ellie Peterson

Meditative Movements™ is an innovative mind-body exercise program that incorporates western science with modern day philosophies and ancient wisdom. Our easy-to-follow, empowering movements can be practiced in your home, care facilities, office, school, gym and in group fitness classes. Youth, adults, and the elderly enjoy practicing the movements because they strengthen their bodies, calm their minds and energize their spirit. The movements are adaptable to anyone's physical ability.

This teacher training will give you the Meditative Movements™ and background you need to teach others. You can share the movements one-on-one and in group settings. Help us bring alternative therapies to those in need.

Saturday, Sept. 8 (9:30 AM - 3:30 PM) {1 SESSION VERSION}*

Giving Stocks

Thank you for your interest in supporting Pathways through a gift of stock. By making a gift of appreciated stock, you are able to make a charitable gift to Pathways and bypass capital gains taxes. To make gifts of appreciated assets, you must have owned them for at least one year and a day. Such gifts are deductible up to 30% of adjusted gross income in the year of the gift. Any unused deduction amounts may be deducted over as many as five subsequent tax years. Please note that it is usually to your advantage to donate appreciated stock rather than selling it and donating the proceeds. Please check with your financial advisor for more information.

Publicly Traded Stock

Appreciated stock that has been held longer than one year should be transferred directly to Pathways. Your deductible gift amount will be the average of the high and the low value of the stock on the date when you made the transfer, times the number of shares transferred. When you transfer appreciated stock directly to Pathways, you do not incur capital gains.

If you wish to make a gift of appreciated stock, please call your broker and ask them to transfer your stock to the Pathways account. Please contact Tim Thorpe at (612) 822-9061 for account information.

Closely Held Stock

Please contact Tim Thorpe at (612) 822-9061 for more information.

Consider Making a Charitable Bequest

A bequest to Pathways in your will is a creative way to make a thoughtful gift. A bequest is a distribution from your estate that may be made through a gift of cash, marketable securities, closely held stock, or real estate.  You may be able to significantly reduce your taxable estate when you make a charitable bequest because tax laws grant an unlimited estate tax deduction.
